Independent news and guides about AI models and AI search. Everything we have published so far is on this page, starting with the news.
searchgpt.net follows the AI models people use every day and the changes they are bringing to Google Search.
Models. GPT-6 reached the main ChatGPT chat on October 7, 2026, and your plan decides which GPT-6 model you get. Anthropic released Opus 5.5, Sonnet 5.5 and Haiku 5.5 between September 22 and October 7, and our guide to every Claude model lists the API and plan prices. Gemini 4 Argon reached Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers on October 13, while Carbon is still for security teams.
Money. Anthropic filed to go public on October 26, 2026 and plans to list on Nasdaq as ANT. The S-1 leaves out the share price and the date, and press reports point to late November.
Search. Google AI Mode answers a search like a chat and links its sentences to sources. Google has no off switch for it or for AI Overviews, but three workarounds kept AI Overviews out of our results in our October 30 test.
Browser how-tos. Two guides cover everyday jobs: how to use the Google color picker, and how to screenshot on a Chromebook, including a whole web page.
